Today’s episode features bestselling author, Katie Shugars. In our conversation, we discuss her recently published book, Living My Better Life: Finding Freedom in Healing. Over the last two years, she found herself sitting in front of a therapist talking about her life. While she documented key takeaways of nearly every therapy session, she had no idea she was writing a book all along. Throughout her pain, shame, and fear, she found herself healing from grief, trauma, and toxic thought patterns and behaviors. For someone who thought there was no hope in escaping the darkest pit of my life, she found freedom in healing. She also shares her idea that no one is actually “living their best life” because we can all heal, grow, and learn from our experiences. Her vulnerability and authenticity are an inspiration and will help you to live your better life.
------------
Katie Shugars is a purpose-driven follower of Jesus who wants to see people find freedom in healing. As a young adult who unwillingly discovered the importance of her mental health, she seeks to share her experiences with others with a slight fear of being known by so many, yet a great joy in knowing that other people can live a fuller, healthier, and better life because of her experiences. You can usually find her in her church community, speaking at events, and now, awake past 8pm living her better life.
